How to Import a Picture Into Corel Draw

Did an update for windows run recently?
To find out go to search and type control panel and then open it.
Go to Programs - Programs and Features - View installed updates.
Check the dates of when they installed.
Let me know the KB number of the installed update.

Also in the Programs and Features select CorelDraw and try and run a repair.

Also, I just did a "Repair" for CorelDRAW 12 and I still have the problem with DRAW's Import function. The file imports and is displayed, but after 5 seconds the DRAW program quits.

I first noticed the problem on September 8, 2018; however, I last used the Draw program sometime in the June/July period. I'm sorry I cannot be more precise for you.

A bit more info:

Yesterday I applied the most recent (i.e. today's) Microsoft update to my Windows 10 OS.

The problem still exists - I can import a TIF and it does display with all the appropriate handles around the image, and the bounding box, but the program quits after 10 seconds.

I first noticed this problem on September 1, 2018 after installing Windows 10 version 1803 update in July 2018.

On September 12 I applied the update described in KB4456655, and on October 9 I applied the update described in KB4462919.

Today I opened CorelDRAW 12, clicked New for a new document, and imported a JPG. After 4 seconds DRAW closed without warning or messages.

If you have any other suggestions, I would really appreciate them.

I solved my problem by dumping the Corel program (after almost 30 years of grief-ridden use) and installing LibreOffice. It's draw program is not as slick as Corel's, but it does have features that Corel 12 does not have, and for home use it is a good replacement.

And, it is free.
